Episode two.
The next day, Acelyn did not talk to Edward, she got ready for school, ate her breakfast quietly and got into Emmett's car without even saying a good morning or good bye to her dad.
The fact that it's Emmett that drops her off at school since his work place is closer to where she schools while Edward drops Tex off at preschool, it made it easier for her to ignore her dad.
"I know you're mad it him," Emmett started. "But it's not really nice when you two fight."
Acelyn knows that, she doesn't enjoy it either but she's not going to be the one to apologise.
"Whatever papa, it's his fault." She huffed.
"You know it's not, he's just trying to protect you, you know that Acelyn."
Off course she does but that doesn't mean she has to accept it.
Acelyn rolled her eyes. "Whatever."
Acelyn really just wanted to get out of the car and not talk about it with her dad but they were stuck in traffic and that meant she wasn't going anywhere anytime soon.
"Don't be mad at him." Emmett said.
"I really don't want to talk about it." Acelyn said and turned her attention out the window hoping he got the message, fortunately he did.
It wasn't until half an hour later that she realized that the cars weren't moving at all and that was odd, the traffic wasn't always this bad.
She turned to look at her father frowning."What's going on? We're not even moving at all."
"Hmm." He hummed nodding. " You're right, maybe something is going on up front, it'll probably clear up soon."
She only nodded in reply but they were both disrupted when a bright green light flashed on the windshield and the windows.
"What?!" Emmett whispered and looked at the window, staring at the green light in horror and reconginition.
"Papa, what's going on?" Acelyn asked sitting up trying to get a better look at where the green light was coming form.
"Get out of the car Ace, now!" He said not even waiting for her to reply, he was already opening the door. Acelyn did the same opening the door and getting out of the car.
She gasped in shock, staring up at the sky. Except what she saw wasn't the blazing yellow of the sun or the blue skies, no what she's looking up at is a green sun and a green sky. She looked around and it's not the sight of the busy street of New York on a Monday morning but wooden statues-human like wooden statues.
"Da-Dad what's going on?" She turned to look at Emmett, scared and terrified.
"They're early." Emmett mumbled to himself. He immediately rushed to Acelyn grabbing her hand.
"Come on," He turned around and began dragging a confused Acelyn down the street in a rush.
Acelyn struggled to keep up with her father, almost running while also trying not to bump into any car.
"Papa." She called, coming to a stop and that made him stop too. He turned to look at her.
"Why did you stop?! We need to go now!"
"But to where?!" She snapped in fustration. "What the hell is going on?!"
Emmett sighed. "I'll explain later but right now we ne-"
" Excuse me ".
The two froze. They slowly turned to look at the man infront of them, Acelyn's attention caught on the odd way he's dressed. He wore a black tuxedo and black shades with black loafers making him look like some governments official.
"You need to come with me, both of you." He said taking a step forward.
Emmett took a step back automatically taking Acelyn with him. His eyes fell on the badge on his chest and his eyes grew wide, he turned to look at Acelyn who was still looking at the man in confusion.
"Acelyn," Emmett called, and she dragged her attention from the man in black looking at her father. "Run."
"What?"
Emmett immediately let go of her and threw himself on the man, pining him on the floor.
"I said run!"
"Papa!"
She couldn't just run, she might not understand what's going on but she understood one thing, they were in danger and she can't leave her father behind.
"I'm not leaving you."
"Just go Ace, I'll be fine!" Emmett yelled trying to keep the man pinned. The man managed to realse his hand, he immediately put it to his ear.
"Man down, man down, I need back up." He spoke into the earpiece.
"Go!" Emmett yelled at her and Acelyn had to get her feet moving.
She turned around and began to run in the direction her father was pulling her at ignoring the dread pooling in her chest the farther she got from her father. She didn't know where she's going or what she's running from but she knew she just had to run.
